What Went On in Joshua Tree?

This month we collaborated with the 70s inspired artist Dana Trippe in Joshua Tree, California where our Lotus Land tees were paired with bell bottoms, pastel bed sheets, hazy kitchen scenes and even a few handmade psychedelic props. Dana was the icon we used to write about in our sketchbooks influencing our own artworks, so working with her and seeing the sun drenched locations we used to research behind our products was almost surreal.

We chose to work with Dana because of our identical love for psychedelics, long hair and insanely eccentric outfits. The aesthetic which she creates with overlays and mixed media techniques absorbs itself like honey into the Californian vibe - something we would never be able to achieve under the grey skies of England. In our small garden studio funky geometric sofas and mountain range dusty roads don't exist, and these locations that sat themselves behind our tees echoed our vibe like never before. The 70s has always heavily influenced our brand; subtle decor of relaxed afternoons which could be envisioned in this era twinned with minimal styled models Raiza and Alice go hand in hand to portray the brand identity of Soleil.

The tees photographed in these images of our SS17 collection draws the significance of the Earth around us, nature and the appreciation it deserves. It intrigues us to want to discover the expanding realms existing on the big blue marble and immerse ourselves into this trip we call life. These tees are for the days you Spin out to your stack of records or take a late night ride in the backseat with your lover. Whether you are stomping barefoot in hazy forest dances or feel away with the fairies, be a part of the mind trip and fall into a forgotten dream in the Lotus Land.
